If you are a business owner, there are fewer things more important than your reputation. The online space is awash with reviews, both positive and negative, from the public who constantly share their experiences of a product or service.
So, how does your business rank when it comes to your online reputation and what are you doing to improve it? If you are looking to polish your brand, read on.
1. Build trust
When it comes to choosing one brand over the other, word of mouth is a huge influencer. Make sure you offer the very best service and go the extra mile whenever you can. This can be the difference between a hugely successful company and one that is quickly overtaken by competitors.
2. How you respond online matters!
Make sure you respond to all comments left on your website and on other review platforms so that you can show you genuinely care and that you are on top of any complaints or misunderstandings. When people rave about your product or service, thank them! Remember that responding to reviews is about both the person who has left the review and anyone who may be reading it.
3. Settle any misunderstandings or miscommunications
There are always going to be some hiccups when it comes to how true a customer’s review is, especially when it has a negative impact on the business. People have different perceptions and often blow things out of proportion. Keep an eye out and deal with any issues that arise. Be friendly in your approach, even when you know the reviewer is in the wrong.
4. Listen to the feedback
Listen to what the public is saying about your business and make sure you improve in all areas where there is opportunity to do so. If you are a restaurant and someone leaves a review suggesting you add a certain dish to the menu, consider it and give it a go. Then respond to that review and invite them to come and try it for themselves.
5. Sign up!
Make sure you sign up to the online review platforms most relevant to your business. These can differ from country to country, so if your business is in multiple areas, you’ll need to consider the right strategy.
Your reputation is key to the success of your business, so make sure you take it seriously.
