On Saturday 24 February, Make A Difference (MAD) Leadership Foundation will host their annual Valley Flair Art Auction at Klein Constantia wine estate. Valley Flair Art Auction is a fundraising event to explore South Africa’s diverse and unique art scene. It is anticipated to become a major focus on the Cape Town event calendar.
Each year Valley Flair is enjoyed by celebrities, sports personalities, art enthusiasts and the general public, proving art can make a difference. This year guests will come together for a great cause. Drinks and canapés will be served in the breathtaking Constantia valley – described as one of the world’s most beautiful vineyards.
Unique art pieces will be presented and on auction. You can expect art from the likes of Mbongeni Buthelezi, Sizwe Khoza, Marieke Prinsloo-Rowe, Nanette (Wessels) Ranger, Elizabeth Balcomb, Janko de Beer, Marke Meyer, Klaus Tiedge, Pamela Stretton, Dylan Lewis, Andrew Ntshabele and Mandy Coppes-Martin to highlight but a few. Valley Flair showcases some of the most talented and established, as well as young-and-up-and-coming artists. The event therefore provides a platform for art lovers and buyers to experience and enjoy beauty and creativity.
Comments MAD Leadership Foundation Founding Chairman, former Springbok Captain Francois Pienaar, “Valley Flair promises an exquisite red carpet evening, surrounding guests with beauty and luxury at every touch point. The contributing artists are extremely talented and have generously donated their time and artworks to assist us in making a difference.”
In addition to the art auction, the iconic Arno Carstens will perform during the evening. Guests will also enjoy catering by celebrated award-winning chef Bertus Basson, wine and MCC from Klein Constantia. There will also be a trendy gin and beer bar.
The event is a collaboration between these celebrated artists, MAD Leadership Foundation, the world-renowned Klein Constantia wine estate, Art Africa, Rialheim, Lizamore & Associates and Auto Atlantic BMW.
Make A Difference Leadership Foundation, focuses on leadership development through education. The approach is to identify scholars who are academically talented, yet do not have the necessary financial resources. These scholars are then offered comprehensive support in the areas of education, mentorship, leadership and life-skills development.
The event will run from 16h30 until 21h00. The dress code is cocktail attire.
Tickets are R500 per person. This cost includes access to the art auction, drinks, catering by Bertus Basson, as well as music entertainment by Arno Carsten’s.
